New Yorkie Runway Show: Who Let the Dogs Out!

I’m going to my first High Fashion Runway Show in New York City.

The models will be wearing sequins and tulle and maybe shoes. There will be bright lights, music, champagne and water bowls. The famous and not-so famous will snack on canapés and nose around the liver treats.

The puparazzi will be out in to capture the magic of the 3rd Annual New Yorkie Doggie Runway Show on February 7th at the New Yorker Hotel in Manhattan.

You read that correctly, the New YorKIE Runway Show, where talented and dedicated canine models will strut their stuff showing off the latest doggie fashion wear from New Yorkie Products.

For the third straight year, the New York canine community and their groupies are coming together to raise funds for the Angel On A Leash charity.

Angel On A Leash creates the best therapy dog programs in health care facilities and other settings across the country.  For more information about Angel On A Leash check out their website:  http://www.angelonaleash.org or read David Frei's touching  book of the same name.

David Frei (the voice of the Westminster Dog Show and a registered therapy dog owner) and Elly McGuire (designer of New Yorkie Fashion Products) will emcee the high energy event. Miss 2011 Miss America Alyssa Campanella will host.

Schmitty the Weather Dog and Beefy the Skateboarding Dog are a few of the celebrity canines who will walk the runway getting ear rubs from dog owners like Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary), weatherman Ron Trotta, Celebrity Chef Sean Olnowich and several dog-gone loving  Real Housewives of New York City.

I am so excited I want to run around and chase my tail…if I had one.

Question: What does one wear to a Doggie Runway Show?

Stay tuned…
